Vine & Grain refinishes kitchen and bathroom cabinets across Sonoma and Sonoma Valley, with sprayed, factory-grade finishes and the prep that makes them last.
Most Sonoma kitchens have solid cabinet boxes worth keeping. What wears out is the finish: dated stain, yellowed paint, chipped edges around the handles. Refinishing replaces the finish, not the cabinets, at a fraction of the cost and mess of a remodel.
We degrease, sand, repair and prime every surface, then spray doors and drawers in premium acrylic urethane for a smooth, hard finish that holds up to daily use.

Kitchen cabinets and islands, bathroom vanities, built-in bookcases, bars and pantries. Painted colors, two-tone kitchens, and re-stained wood.

It depends on the number of doors, drawers and boxes, their condition, and the finish. Most kitchens run $6,000 to $12,000, typically a fraction of replacing cabinets (see our cost guide). We give free, in-person estimates in Sonoma with a written scope.
Most kitchens take about a week. Doors and drawers are sprayed off-site while boxes are prepped and finished in place, so your kitchen stays usable for much of the job.
No. A cabinet refinish is a full process: cleaning, degreasing, sanding, repairs, a bonding primer and a sprayed, cured finish. Brushed paint over old cabinets usually chips and peels within a year or two.
Yes. Oak, maple, cherry and stained cabinets can be refinished in a painted color, or re-stained. We grain-fill oak when a smooth painted look is wanted.
